Competitive swimmer with 10+ years, swim instructor and lifeguard for 7+ years, 500+ students taught across all ages in the GTA.
I've been swimming competitively for over 10 years and teaching and lifeguarding for more than 7 years. Over that time I've taught 500+ swimmers of all ages across the GTA, from beginners nervous around water to stronger swimmers improving technique, endurance, fitness, or lifeguarding skills.
Every swimmer learns differently, so I always adjust my teaching style based on comfort level, confidence, and goals. I focus on building confidence first, then technique, then progress. I keep lessons structured but relaxed and encouraging, especially for younger swimmers.
Lessons usually start with a quick check-in to understand the swimmer's current level, comfort in the water, and goals. From there, I build a simple plan for the lesson. We typically begin with warm-up skills, then move into focused drills, stroke work, water safety, endurance, or specific goals depending on the swimmer.
This bright saltwater pool in Mississauga’s Dixie area offers the ideal setup for swim lessons. With a shallow stairway entry that helps beginners ease into the water and a longer length than most pools for practicing distance, this pool supports swimmers at every stage. Natural light fills the space, creating a calm, open atmosphere, and the hot tub adds comfort for students winding down and receiving feedback at the end of their session.
Pool access details are provided after you book.
