Swim lessons with Samantha M.

Hello! My name is Samantha or Sam for short! A little bit about me: I am a student in the animal bioscience program at the University of Saskatchewan, I spend my summers working as a lifeguard and swim instructor at a local pool in my hometown, and I enjoy playing various sports such as softball and volleyball. In 2024 I will be entering my fourth year as a lifeguard and swim instructor. I have been a swim instructor through both the Canadian Red Cross and the Lifesaving Society during my lifeguarding career. I love to see youth enjoy their time in the water in a safe and fun way. My main goal is to ensure all of my swimmers are aware of the dangers that water can hold, teach how caution and action can be taken to avoid accidents, get help, or provide help. No swimmer is too little to learn to save lives, whether it be in the form of calling 911 or learning the basics of CPR. My second goal is to have fun in my lessons while swimmers learn vital skills in and around the water! My favourite lessons to teach are Sea Otter/Swimmer 1 (ages 3-5). These lessons are vital for success in all future lessons because swimmers are becoming independent from their guardians while learning all the basics. Although, I enjoy teaching swimmers of all ages and never fail to have fun and make connections with all of my kids! I have a diverse skill set and experience teaching lessons from Parent and Tot to Patrol levels. I have also had experience teaching private lessons, split levels, swimmers with disabilities such as Autism spectrum disorder (ADS) and hearing disabilities, and even aquasize classes. I look forward to teaching you all I know about swimming and water safety!
