I have taught more than 100 swimmers while working for the City of Toronto. These included guardian classes, preschool levels, ultras 1 through 9, bronze star, adult swim, and swim fit. Thus, I am well informed in the progression of skills needed to get that fast and effortless stroke. As well, I used to swim competitively so I know all about the various drills and tips to improve your stroke or that weak flutter kick that's been dragging your body down. All swimmers possess a variety of different skill levels and confidence levels so when I teach, I encompass patience, enthusiasm, and an open mind because I know that I just have to find the right way to achieve success and the smile of a happy swimmer. This may be incorporating games for a timid child, introducing competition for that ambitious teenager, or simply explaining in depth why we must do things a certain way for that pensive adult.
