Fully Vaccinated & Boosted ✅ Hi, my name is Haley! I am a former competitive swimmer who has been a lifeguard & swim instructor for over 9 years. I have worked as an instructor at the University of Calgary and YMCA, as well as a number of outdoor pools and swim clubs. I am passionate about working with both children and adults, and sharing my knowledge of swimming with everyone so they can enjoy the water as much as I do! I have taught and coached swimmers of a variety of ages and abilities. I am a certified Red Cross Water Safety Instructor so I can help you or your child progress all the level you desire. I have also previously taught lessons to young swimmers with adapted needs such as ASD, cerebral palsy and social anxiety (plus many others). I always tailor all of my lessons to each of my swimmers individual goals and try my best to match their specific affect, making sure that they feel comfortable both physically and mentally in what can be a scary place! I especially enjoy working with beginner adults. The pool can be a stressful when you are new to swimming so helping you feel comfortable with the water so you can swim in the ocean, take your kids to the waterpark or whatever your goal may be always makes me remember why I love teaching so much in the first place! In my lessons, I believe that communication with my swimmers is the key to improvement. I will give you the and advice you need to improve along with drills and skills to practice on your own time for maximum results. Learning to swim takes a lot of time, so I want to make sure that all of my swimmers are equipped with the tools and knowledge to train at their leisure outside of my lessons as well. As a former competitive swimmer and also a NCCP swim coach, I can offer expert coaching on stroke correction, turns, and walls. I like to take a fundamental approach to swimming, always starting with body and head position to create a great foundation for all strokes to build upon. My favorite skill to teach is butterfly, which can be one of the toughest skills to learn, even for advanced swimmers (trust me it's fun once you learn though!) Thanks so much for taking the time to read my bio, please book down below if you think I would be a good fit for you or your child! Hope to hear from you soon :)

Excellent
My first lesson with Haley exceeded my expectations. I was impressed how as a beginner, how comfortable I was in the water, and how I felt I was progressing so quickly. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and lots of patience.

I liked the gliding drills and the bobbing in and out of the water at the start was good.

It is not as easy as it looks. I need more practice to be more comfortable.
There was a lot to learn and I found it a bit overwhelming and stressful. I need to practice and be more comfortable in the water.
