Before our daughter started lessons with Santana, she wouldn’t even get her face wet in the bath—she was extremely nervous around water and scared to let go of an adult, even in shallow areas. We enrolled her hoping she’d gain some basic swimming confidence and safety skills, especially since we spend so much time around pools and lakes in the summer. To our surprise and absolute delight, by the end of her very first class with Santana, she was jumping into the water on her own! Santana’s patience, understanding, and genuine passion for teaching completely transformed our daughter’s relationship with water. She felt safe, encouraged, and proud of herself—something we hadn’t seen before in a pool setting. Now she proudly tells everyone she’s a mermaid and asks to go swimming every chance she gets. Her confidence has soared, and we owe that entirely to Santana’s incredible approach. We’re so grateful for the positive impact she’s had and would recommend her to any family without hesitation.

My neuro-spicy son has always been afraid of the water. We tried city lessons, and they were a huge waste of time for us. On the first lesson with Santana he went from hiding under a chair in the lobby to happily kicking his feet in the water. After lesson 3, he said, “mommy I loved my swimming lesson and I never want another teacher ever in my life” which was a huge deal. She has tons of personal experience with neuro-atypical kids, which was why I chose her initially. She showed her understanding of that when she had my son spend some time floating on his back which led to a full day of miraculous regulation. So happy we found Santana!

She is very warm, knows how to instruct and engage as well as encourage beginners. Just one swim lesson with her and I was so impressed.
