Our kids loved their lesson with Faith. In the first class they already conquered more fears than they had in all of their swimming lessons so far - she was really fun, calm and motivating. Excited to have more lessons with her

Faith knows what she's doing when it comes to being a mermaid. I've always wanted to try it out and had so much fun learning the ways of a mermaid. She was so patient with me while I blubbered my way through the lesson and I highly recommend booking a lesson with her if you or your little ones want to give it a go and try something new! :)

About Faith W.

I've worked in the aquatic industry since 2014 and have been with Propel for 8 years. I'm 5ft tall, approachable, friendly, and fun - I've even worked as a lifeguard at Walt Disney World! What sets me apart is that I'm also an experienced mermaid performer and freediver (AIDA 1 and PADI Advanced Mermaid). I sprinkle in mermaid magic to all lessons!

Teaching philosophy

I believe that the best learning happens when we're having fun, so you will see a balance of games, skill drills and play. This allows for students to get comfortable trying new things in the water with close supervision as well as staying motivated and engaged. My goal is to inspire a love of and confidence in the water rather than make Olympians.

A typical first lesson

Let me know in your lesson notes whether you'd like a mermaid experience or a typical skill-based swimming lesson so I can prepare. I adapt my lessons for each swimmer, including offering mermaid lessons for those who are ready to wear mermaid tails! Please note that strong swimming is a prerequisite to this, but no tail required as I have loaners

Best Western Plus Mission City Lodge

Located in downtown Mission just off Lougheed Highway, this hidden oasis is an amazing pool for beginner and intermediate swimmers to learn in. Swimmers can warm up at the end of their lesson in our onsite hot tub and sauna. Observing parents will enjoy lounge chair seating, free towel service, wifi, and a Starbucks located just around the corner.
