This was my girls (5 and 8 yrs old) first class with Michelle and they had a blast! I like how she let us in a few mins early to introduce herself to the girls and take the time to learn our goals for the class. She was very professional and understanding. She made the whole class fun and interesting. I can tell she is an experienced instructor because she was really good at communicating with the kids and captured their attention. My youngest is a very active little girl and Michelle was able to manage both kids at the same time and make sure they are safe. Overall, it was a great experience and the girls asked to go swimming with Michele again! I would definitely recommend Michele if you are looking for an amazing instructor.

I strongly recommend Michelle to any adult who is anxious to learn swimming at a later age. Michelle's strongest asset is adapting her teaching style and method to suit the need of each student. She is extremely patient, very professional, experienced instructor providing timely feedback and corrections. She repeats herself many times making sure I understand her and understand each step. Michelle is knowledgable on the fundamentals of swimming principal. She does not just tell you what to do. She breaks down the movement, how it works and why it works. She even explains why a wrong attempt does not work. There is a clear logic behind her approach. As an adult learner, I never thought I would learn to swim in just a month and a half. I had fear of water and would get anxious just thinking of the deep end. Michelle is pleasant, enthusiastic, and passionate about swimming. She transfers that passion to her student. She is not just a swim instructor. Her education and background allow her to explain muscle movement and the benefit of swimming on overall health. My swimming lessons with Michelle have been the best investment of my life. It has positively impacted my physical health and mental well-being.

Michelle was great! I would highly recommend her. She is professional and personable. I'm am an adult who is not confident in water and cannot tread. Michelle gave me confidence, showed me some techniques and pointed out where I can improve in a way that was easy and not overwhelming for me. I enjoyed my lesson! Thank you Michelle! Nancy

Michelle made it really easy to progress quickly with what I learned in just one session so far. She is attentive to what needs adjustment, and can articulate it to you in a way that can be easily understood and followed. I felt comfortable, relaxed, safe, and even inspired. I guess it doesn't take much for her to bring that about. She's awesome. Can't wait for the next one! Thanks Michelle

About Michelle W.

Hi There! My name is Michelle. I am a retired National level swimmer, who is passionate about helping children and adults reach their swimming goals! I have been heavily involved in aquatics throughout my life. I was a competitive swimmer for 15 years, which has led to my love of the water. I have worked as a swimming instructor and lifeguard for 8 years, both in a recreational and competitive setting! I have experience teaching children ages 4-16, as well as adults looking to improve their confidence in the water! My lessons can cater to any level of swimmer, from beginners of all ages to aspiring competitive athletes looking to master technique and efficiency. Are you an adult looking to gain aquatic confidence? Many of my clients include adults who have a fear of the water, but leave my lessons feeling confident and comfortable in the pool. My lessons are designed for your individual goals, and with a pace that works best for your long-term success. I have taught under both the Red Cross and Lifesaving Society. Having graduated from Queen's University with a degree in Physical Activity and Health, I can also cater lessons for those looking to have an effective low-impact aquafit workout. I look forward to helping you achieve your aquatic goals!
