My background: I am currently a 2nd year masters student in Occupational Therapy (OT) at the University of British Columbia. I have completed my undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (study of human movement) with a minor in Family Studies. I have been teaching swimming for six years, previously as a lifeguard for the City of Coquitlam and continue to currently teach/supervise adapted swimming programs. I have had extensive experience teaching all ages (Preschool-Adult) with a passion for teaching adaptive swimming lessons. My teaching philosophy: Collectively, my professional and personal experiences have informed the teaching strategies/tools that I use. Whether it is overcoming the fear of putting your face in the water to refining your front crawl technique, let's work together to find out what is the best way to improve your swimming abilities. Above all else, I believe the most important quality is to always believe in one's potential.
