Hello! I believe that swimming is an essential life skill and I am passionate about water safety and guiding people in finding the joy of swimming! Due to my limited schedule, lessons with me are best suited for swimmers looking for extra help to pass a level or someone looking for short-term lessons! A little about me! I have a Bachelor of Physical Education & Coaching from Douglas College. I am well-versed in the latest coaching and education theories as well as what strategies are tried & true. I have been a swim instructor for over 7 years and a coach in multiple other sports for over 10. I am an Aquatic leader at the City of Burnaby and was a Lifeguard/Instructor there for 6 years before that. I am certified in NL, WSI, LSI, EFA, and SFA & CPR-C. I have experience teaching lessons to people with adapted needs including ASD, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, and social anxiety. In my everyday life I try to be intentional with my actions. I do this by being conscious of my words and the effect they have, taking the time to actively listen, showing up when I’m needed, and offering comments that are well thought out. These same intentional actions are present in my teaching. I want to make sure that whoever I am working with feels heard and understood while also helping guide them in the right direction. I recognize that everyone has their own unique style of learning and what works for one swimmer may not work for another. I love observing and talking to who I am working with to figure out what works best for them. I am conscious of all the learning styles and try to incorporate something for everybody in every lesson I create. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I look forward to working with you!
With 5 lanes and 20 metres of pool to work with, this facility is amazing for intermediate to advanced swimmers looking to improve their distance and endurance as well as confidence in deep water. For new or first time triathletes, this pool is also an amazing and private coaching facility. Located in an easily accessible residential neighbourhood with free parking. Please note that since only 1 lane is available for Propel lesson use, if 2 lessons are occurring, the lane will need to be shared. This location will be unavailable for lessons from June 29 to September 4, 2026.
