Stephanie, your patience, understanding, and willingness to help Ashley learn at her own pace means so much to us. We appreciate all the encouragement and confidence you’ve given her along the way even when she is not cooperating.

Our two boys were always excited to have their swimming lessons with Stephanie. They have learned a lot from just a few lessons which means money and time well-spent. Stephanie has always been consistent in leveling up our boys' learning with her skills, knowledge, patience and making them feel confident and comfortable.

My two kids (8 & 10) don’t have any formal swimming lesson experience. Stephanie was great with them and they both can’t wait to come back!

About Stephanie H.

I began my aquatic career with the City of Calgary in 2005 & have spent more than 21 years teaching swimmers of all ages and abilities. Whether I’m working with toddlers taking their first steps in the water, adults overcoming fears, or competitive swimmers refining technique, my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and enjoyable environment

Teaching philosophy

My teaching style focuses on patience, encouragement, and helping swimmers build confidence at their own pace. Whether you’re learning the basics, improving technique, or overcoming fear in the water, I create a calm and positive environment where every swimmer feels supported and safe.

A typical first lesson

We’ll start by discussing your goals and comfort level in the water. Then, we’ll work on breathing, floating, and basic swimming skills at a pace that feels comfortable. By the end of the lesson, you’ll have a clear understanding of your strengths and the next steps in your progress.

Where I teach

Delta Hotels Calgary Southland Atrium

30-31°C · 32ft long · 2ft to 4ft deep

Located within the serene hotel atrium, this inviting pool is the perfect destination for budding young swimmers taking their first plunge into the world of water. Please note that due to the shape of this pool, it is not ideal for advanced swimmers or swimmers looking to swim laps.

Pool access details are provided after you book.
