Hello, my name is Maya! I'm 21 years old and have a long history with the pool. I have been a competitive swimmer with various swim clubs for 15 years, and have been teaching for 6+ years with various companies and swim teams, I also lifeguard both beaches and pools in my spare time!
•
I have worked with and taught all age groups, from toddlers to adults, I currently work as a coach for a competitive swim club, and have worked as a coach for a pre-competitive swim club called Splash.
•
Prior to our first lesson, I like to discuss and get to know what skills are hardest for you, which skills are easiest for you, and what you would personally like to improve on. Next, I will evaluate our current level by asking you to demonstrate whichever strokes and skills you are most comfortable with. Finally, based on all of this information, I like to create weekly swim schedules tailored specifically for you and your needs.
My swim schedules include:
- Weekly in-person training, including pre-set swim sets, drills, endurance exercises, stretches and timed swims.
- At-home workouts to do (if you would like), including, and not limited to, stretches, cardio, and general muscle training to aid in strength and endurance within the pool.
- Recommendations (if you would like) for equipment to purchase to aid in certain swim drills, where to buy this equipment, and which equipment and companies are best in relation to swim products. Equipment will be provided for you during lessons.
•
I base my lessons on your wishes and needs, so if you would like to take it easy and go slow, that is more than fine! If you want to be introduced to the world of competitive swimming with high-intensity workouts, that can also be done. I work well on both ends of the stick.
•
Everyone is capable of becoming an amazing swimmer with time, patience, and work.
•
I greatly look forward to working with you and am excited for whatever is to come!
