McKenna is an excellent swimming instructor. I highly recommend her, especially for children on the spectrum or those with sensory needs. She has a remarkable ability to connect with children who require extra support and is truly gifted in her approach. She has been absolutely wonderful with my son, and we look forward to seeing her each week for lessons!

About McKenna A.

I've taught swimming at HMCS Quadra (2015), Tong Louie YMCA (2015 to 2017), and the City of Delta (2017 to 2025). My experience ranges from parent and tot through children with special needs to adults of all backgrounds. I also teach mermaid swim lessons and aquafit, and have a hobby in underwater hockey.

Teaching philosophy

I'm passionate about all things water and bring that energy to every lesson. My experience spans a wide range of swimmers and styles, from foundational skills to specialty formats like mermaid swim and aquafit, and I tailor my approach to each individual.

Best Western Plus Mission City Lodge

Located in downtown Mission just off Lougheed Highway, this hidden oasis is an amazing pool for beginner and intermediate swimmers to learn in. Swimmers can warm up at the end of their lesson in our onsite hot tub and sauna. Observing parents will enjoy lounge chair seating, free towel service, wifi, and a Starbucks located just around the corner.
