Private swim lessons with Alancia J.

Hi, I'm Alancia! I am an experienced lifeguard and swim instructor. Through my seven years as an instructor, I am confident in teaching toddlers, children and adults at any skill level. In addition, I have experience teaching people with varied mental and physical abilities. I attend UBC and work as a Varsity Teams Academic Coach during the school year. In this role, I help first year student-athletes navigate life as a student-athlete. I teach academic success strategies, recognizing that every student has their own challenges, needs, and goals. Comparatively, my role as a swim instructor incorporates this same approach by catering to each swimmer's goals, needs and comfort levels. I love helping people develop confidence in the water and push themselves to become stronger swimmers. My teaching approach is centered around helping swimmers make progress and ensuring that their time in the water is fun and enjoyable! I am fully vaccinated, and I take a priority in ensuring that my swimmers always feel comfortable and safe. Thank you for reading and I hope to see you at the pool soon!
