About Phronsie C.
I grew up swimming competitively in a swim club in Hong Kong and taught swimming for 13 years. I also teach skiing and snowboarding, including adaptive snowsports. I love helping swimmers of all ages and abilities feel safe, build confidence, improve their skills, and discover the joy of being in the water while having fun and reaching their goal
Teaching philosophy
My lessons are patient, encouraging, and tailored to each swimmer’s needs and goals. I focus on building confidence and strong fundamentals while making learning fun. With experience teaching adaptive snowsports, I’m comfortable adapting my coaching style to different abilities and learning styles, so every swimmer can progress at their own pace.

A typical first lesson
Beginners are always welcome! Your first lesson is relaxed and personal. We’ll chat about your experience, comfort level, and goals before I gently assess your skills. I’ll adapt the lesson to you, at your own pace, so you feel safe and confident. Need a different time? Message me and I’ll see what I can do!

Where I teach
Port Moody
Located in the heart of Port Moody, just moments from the skytrain with ample street parking is a warm, family friendly pool perfect for children learning to swim and adults looking to advance their skills. The shallow side has a ladder for entry and is great for young children and beginning swimmers at 3 feet deep. A subtle slope leading to the deepest part of the pool at 8 feet is great to practice more advanced skills. With a brand new heater installed, the pool is kept at 86F (30C) perfect for those just learning to swim. We have a newly renovated bathroom right off the pool deck and pool deck changing pods for those who want to change quick before and after lessons. Shower available upon request.
