Hi, I’m Alancia! With over eight years of experience as a certified lifeguard and swim instructor, I specialize in teaching swimmers of all ages and abilities—from toddlers taking their first dip to adults learning to swim for the first time or refining their technique. I’m also experienced in supporting individuals with diverse physical and mental abilities, ensuring every swimmer feels confident, comfortable, and empowered in the water. I’m a proud graduate of UBC, where I competed as a varsity athlete, and served as an Academic Coach for student-athletes. Now, I’m pursuing my Juris Doctor. My background in education, coaching, and advocacy informs my approach to swim instruction: every swimmer learns differently, and I tailor each lesson to suit individual goals, needs, and comfort levels. Whether you're learning to swim for the first time or aiming to improve your skills, I’m here to support your progress and ensure you enjoy every moment in the water. My teaching philosophy blends structure, encouragement, and fun to build strong swimmers. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I look forward to seeing you at the pool!
A hidden neighborhood retreat, this bright indoor pool feels like a mini getaway. Sunlight pours through the large panel doors along one end, lighting up the sparkling blue water while giving swimmers a fun peek at the outdoors. The pool's gentle stair entry is perfect for toddlers easing into the water, and the gradual depth and long length allow everyone from beginners to confident swimmers to practice at their own pace. Just steps away, a newly renovated restroom, shower, and changing room make getting ready easy for parents juggling towels and goggles. Warm lighting, fresh facilities, and a welcoming atmosphere come together to create a safe, cheerful space where families and individuals can build skills, confidence, and happy memories in the water.
