Javier is an exceptional swim coach. He transformed Ella’s technique, especially her butterfly — it went from decent to powerful and efficient. We started working with him last year to complement her high school swim practices, and the results spoke for themselves: she won three medals at OFSAA. What sets Javier apart is his approach. He pushes hard, expects effort, and simultaneously stays completely encouraging. Ella leaves every session both exhausted and confident. If you want real technical improvement and a coach who brings out the best in young athletes, Javier is the one.

Had my first lesson as a complete beginner and Javier was fantastic. He was understanding of my current level and was very patient, but also keeping pace of the lesson. I learned more than I thought I could and know I can become confident with the water in no time.

I am very happy taking swim classes with Javier. I could tell from day one Javier is a technically superior swimmer than a lot of other coaches out there. The way he explains movements is top notch. His technical expertise made a big difference for me. In just a few lessons, I went from barely making 25m to comfortably swim front crawl 100m+ plus learning to do all 4 basic strokes. My breathing got easier; my swim became more effortless; I enjoyed swimming more than I ever did. It felt so good to be able to swim and glide confidently in water. I highly recommend Javier.

I wanted to invest in swimming because it's probably the only sport that if you don't know it, when you need it, you'd die. So it's probably a good skill to have. At 35 years old, I decided to prioritize it and my SO decided to overcome his fear of water (nearly drowned twice as a kid). Javier was our saviour. My friends tried to explain a concept to me for 2 hrs in a pool, I couldn't get it. Javier said 1 sentence and fixed the issue - he does this constantly! He balances feedback and encouragement that keeps you motivated. If you don't like patient, approachable and skilled instructors, look elsewhere. After about 3-4 lessons, my SO and I reached our goals and now we're looking forward to more sessions to get even better. Don't hesitate to try Javier out, he's saved us years of trying to learn unsuccessfully and really boosted our confidence too. Thanks man!! My SO and I are excited to go to the beach and go into the water for the first time together, we are really excited for this whole new world!

About Javier B.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching swimmers of all kinds — children, adults, and people with disabilities. My competitive background spans 15+ years.

Teaching philosophy

I believe everyone is capable of learning to swim, but common obstacles — overcrowded classes, progress measured only by levels, drills that don't match learning style, and low-energy coaching — hold students back. I build hand-tailored lesson plans matched to each swimmer's goals and abilities. For adults I focus on technique and confidence.
