I am a retired National level competitive swimmer who swam for the Toronto Swim Club for 10 years with their Jr. National program as well a member of Western University's varsity Swim Team. In continuing with my competitive background I began coaching for the Toronto Swim Club and St. Albans Boys and Girls Club. I currently coach the Swim Team for the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club. I am extremely qualified in giving technical skill correction in coaching children and Youth whom are at a higher level or just starting off in competitive swimming. I have also coached youth and adults who are training for duathlons and triathlons. I am able to provide race strategy technique as well as film stroke correction. My patient personality also allows me to work well with adults who are first time swimmers. In addition to coaching, I also hold certifications as a National Lifeguard, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Life Saving Society Learn to Swim, Emergency First Aid, and Bronze level instructor. I have been teaching swim levels for 12 years. I have a lot of experience teaching children the basics right from the beginning while always ensuring they are engaged. I have a lot of expertise with children who fear water and are timid to try new things. In my undergrad years I was a Vice President of a club with provided children with disabilities one-on-one swim instruction. I have taught swimming to a variety of children with ASD, ADHD, Sensory Processing Disorders, and physical disabilities. I am also a student pursuing a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, and continue to learn and work with diverse populations.
