I sent both my boys for their first lesson with Alyssa and she was amazing! My boys learned so much. Hopefully we can book more to improve our swim skills.

My son's swimming lesson went very well with Alyssa today. She has a great personality, very positive and she is a very knowledgeable swimming teacher. She taught both in water and out of water. Whatever is necessary to get the strokes right. Our son improved so much in this lesson. He enjoyed the lesson very much. We are looking forward to booking more lessons with Alyssa.

About Alyssa S.

Hello there! My name is Alyssa, and I'm thrilled to share a bit about myself with you. I have five years of experience teaching various age groups and abilities. Currently, I work as a lifeguard, where I instruct individuals of all ages on essential swimming skills, water safety, and rescue techniques. I am also pursuing a future in education, and am currently completing my undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University! In addition to my work as a lifeguard with the City of Coquitlam, I also have extensive experience coaching with the Coquitlam Sharks Aquatic program for four years. Through coaching, I've gained communication and leadership skills, helping me effectively guide athletes toward their goals. I'm also passionate about volunteering, and I've spent a significant amount of time with the Special Olympics organization. This experience has allowed me to contribute to my community while learning about the unique needs and abilities of individuals with intellectual disabilities. I am also currently volunteering in a grade 3 classroom in hopes of gaining experience before I pursue a career in teaching! My passion for swimming started long before I began instructing lessons and coaching. I was a competitive swimmer for nine years, during which I learned discipline, perseverance, and the value of teamwork. These lessons have stayed with me and influenced my approach to teaching and coaching. Overall, I'm grateful for the opportunities I've had to learn, grow, and serve others through swimming, coaching, and education. I am excited to meet you all and put my years of experience to good use! Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me!

With 5 lanes and 20 metres of pool to work with, this facility is amazing for intermediate to advanced swimmers looking to improve their distance and endurance as well as confidence in deep water. For new or first time triathletes, this pool is also an amazing and private coaching facility. Located in an easily accessible residential neighbourhood with free parking. Please note that since only 1 lane is available for Propel lesson use, if 2 lessons are occurring, the lane will need to be shared. This location will be unavailable for lessons from June 29 to September 4, 2026.

Pool access details are provided after you book.
