Randy listened and understood my goals, and provided honest feedback and practical suggestions on how to improve. My time was well spent and I'd recommend Randy to any adults who would like to improve their techniques.

Randy was fantastic! My kids(4 and 7) had been out of the water for the better part of two years and he focused on building their confidence and getting them comfortable with the pool. Blowing bubbles, splashing, floating on their back. My daughter, who refused to get in at the beginning, had a blast by the end of the class.

From not having any formal swimming lessons and a basic understanding of swimming, Randy taught me drills and ways to practice to improve!

About Randy H.

Hi there! My name is Randy, and I have been swimming for more than half of my life! Starting at the age of 7, I swam competitively with the Burnaby Barracudas for 10 years. Afterwards, I obtained my certifications and became a lifeguard with the City of Burnaby. Over the past 8 years as a lifeguard, I have discovered my passion for teaching people of all ages how to swim. I specialize in working with adults who are looking to become more comfortable in the water or who are learning how to swim for the first time. Additionally, I have expertise in stroke technique and teaching various swimming strokes such as front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, diving, and treading water. Certified in WSI, CPR C/AED, I am able to effectively apply my knowledge from competitive swimming to each lesson I teach. I have experience teaching swimming lessons to people of all learning abilities and ages, ranging from parent and tot classes to adult swim lessons. Furthermore, I have worked with children with developmental disabilities. My students have often described me as friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. I hope to have the opportunity to continue sharing my passion for swimming and teaching others! If you don't see a time that works for you in my calendar, please feel free to email me at randyho.com@hotmail.com and I can try to make alternative arrangements with you. I must admit that my teaching skills surpass my writing skills, but I am eager and excited to teach you!

With 5 lanes and 20 metres of pool to work with, this facility is amazing for intermediate to advanced swimmers looking to improve their distance and endurance as well as confidence in deep water. For new or first time triathletes, this pool is also an amazing and private coaching facility. Located in an easily accessible residential neighbourhood with free parking. Please note that since only 1 lane is available for Propel lesson use, if 2 lessons are occurring, the lane will need to be shared. This location will be unavailable for lessons from June 29 to September 4, 2026.
