We did a joint lesson for my 2 boys with Tristan and he did an amazing job! My boys were not looking forward to the swim lesson and had lots of complaints before we went. But after an hour with Tristan, they completely changed their minds and said it was a fun, awesome lesson! During the lesson, I also saw immediate improvement. Tristan was a great match as a swim teacher for my kids.

We just had our son’s first swimming lesson with Tristan, and it was exceptionally promising! My son is usually very hesitant about putting his head under water, but Tristan’s clear guidance helped him make huge strides right away. Under Tristan's patient yet firm instruction, my son managed to swim with his chin and ear under water and even made bubbles with his mouth underwater! Tristan has a wonderful teaching style that kept my son focused and following directions. There is still a lot to learn, but we are completely confident that Tristan is the right person to teach our son how to swim safely and independently.

Tristan taught my kids' swim lessons today and he was fantastic. Really knows his stuff when it comes to technique and takes the time to actually explain it, not just demonstrate and move on - my kids came away understanding why they were doing things a certain way. He's also great at reading kids: comfortable enough in the water that they trust him, but he still pushes them to try things that are a bit outside their comfort zone, which is exactly what you want in an instructor. We'll be back for more lessons with him. Highly recommend if you're looking for someone for your kids.

Tristan is a great teacher. My son is very anxious and Tristan knew exactly how to proceed to make him feel comfortable in the water. They made a lot of progress in a single lesson, I highly recommend him.

Teaching philosophy

I believe students learn best when they feel safe, encouraged, and challenged. I approach each lesson focused on adapting to the swimmer's needs and circumstances — proper communication between swimmer and instructor is key. I work well with all ages, from toddlers and preschoolers through to adult and fitness swimmers.

Where I teach

Langley Aldergrove

30-31°C · 34ft long · 3ft to 6ft deep

A serene indoor pool in Aldergrove, set beneath a vaulted cedar ceiling with skylights for a calm, welcoming atmosphere. A wide stairway entry makes it easy for small children to ease in, while the 6-foot depth gives intermediate swimmers room to work on submersion and deeper-water progressions. Single-capacity bookings mean you'll have the entire pool to yourself for the full lesson.

Pool access details are provided after you book.
