WSI-certified instructor since 2006 — Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Red Cross and Swim for Life programs, staff training clinician, all
I'm Kirsten. I've taught swimming lessons since 2006 and private lessons since 2008, working across many municipalities and the YMCA. I'm certified in Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, and WSI. I also work as a clinician training fellow staff on higher-level strokes and adult learner considerations.
My goal is to see growth and enjoyment throughout every lesson. I draw on multiple lesson programs beyond Red Cross — including drills and approaches not found in a standard curriculum — to build a personalized experience aligned with your specific goals.
I strongly suggest students bring goggles. If you have long hair, a swim cap helps keep it out of your face.
Located in the heart of Port Moody, just moments from the skytrain with ample street parking is a warm, family friendly pool perfect for children learning to swim and adults looking to advance their skills. The shallow side has a ladder for entry and is great for young children and beginning swimmers at 3 feet deep. A subtle slope leading to the deepest part of the pool at 8 feet is great to practice more advanced skills. With a brand new heater installed, the pool is kept at 86F (30C) perfect for those just learning to swim. We have a newly renovated bathroom right off the pool deck and pool deck changing pods for those who want to change quick before and after lessons. Shower available upon request.
Pool access details are provided after you book.
