Andrew is a truly exceptional instructor who clearly loves what he does. His genuine care for his students shines through every single lesson. He brings a contagious enthusiasm to the pool that makes classes incredibly fun, but what sets him apart is how deeply invested he is in my son’s personal growth. Andrew adapts his teaching techniques to match my son's unique traits, ensuring he actually benefits and excels. By setting clear, realistic goals, Andrew gives my son something concrete to strive for and gives us a meaningful way to evaluate his progress. It’s rare to find a coach who cares this much about their students' success!

Andrew has a great energy with kids, teaching them with humour and fun. He is continually thinking of ways to push students learning or of new strategies to help them be comfortable in the water. He is great at adapting skills for people with disabilities.

As a new swimmer, I felt completely supported and comfortable in every lesson. Andrew was patient, clear, and made learning to swim an enjoyable experience. Even with 1 lesson I was able to feel comfortable in the water on my trip.

Andrew is a gem! I never liked to swim and he has the patience and energy to help an adult swimmer find their way in the water.

About Andrew R.

Born and raised in Edmonton, I moved to Vancouver and now lifeguard beaches in West Vancouver and swim Burrard Inlet. I'm certified in Swim for Life and Breaking Waves, and also hold a Waterart Aqua-fit certificate. My experience spans diverse swimmers and includes taking swimmers into the ocean when they're ready for open water.

Teaching philosophy

I ditch rigid scripts and use kinesiology, playful tactics, and clear communication to unlock each swimmer's potential. My style is fun, supportive, and tailored to you, and I'm particularly effective with English-second-language learners and children. My drive is to help you surpass your goals as quickly as possible. **DAY & AVAILABILITY IN PICS
